Here come some more juicy tidbits from freshly unsealed documents tied to the upcoming Apple (AAPL) vs.Samsung (005930) extravaganza! From discarded settlement offers to muscle flexing on both sides, things are starting to heat up in San Jose, California. In the latest round of documents examined by All Things D, a few new items of attention have been uncovered. Whether or not Samsung’s Android devices are really Apple “copycats” is often debated in court and on tech blogs, but some newly exposed internal Samsung documents suggest that Samsung may have its work cut out for it while trying preserving its designs.
Samsung was forced by the court to furnish a number of interior documents, and similarities between Samsung’s Android devices and Apple’s wares are apparently often a topic of conversation. The papers include records of numerous Samsung employees discussing the similarities themselves. According to one manuscript, Samsung even had a number of reports from Best Buy stating that customers were recurring Samsung’s Galaxy tablets because when they bought them, they consideration they were getting iPads.
The South Korea-based consumer electronics giant is currently doing its best to avert these damning documents from being used in the trial, for noticeable reasons. If they are allowable as evidence, however, it could certainly spell trouble for Samsung.
