Nikon release the new stylish looking camera called V1. It is easy-use professional camera which only takes images. Right off the bat, the Nikon 1 V1 doesn’t look or feel like earlier cameras of its kind. Its silky flat body is deceivingly small and light, so those with big hands might take some time to get used it.
The V1 also has a big 3-inch display that shows the images and details brightly, with key buttons and a dial to the right of it, with only the significant features highlighted.
The camera has come with 2 lenses – the main 1 NIKKOR VR 10-30mm lens and the wide-angle 1 NIKKOR 10mm.
As somebody more used to compact cameras, anything involving fiddling about to take a photo is an intimidating affair. Indeed, the V1 takes quite a while to figure out, but after a bit of practice, it is a attractive cool tiny device.
The key characteristic of the V1, as well as its sister model, the Nikon 1 J1, is the high-speed auto focus which helps when taking both images and video. You can take pictures very speedy as well, perfect for that moment when you don’t want to lose any time, such as during sporting events.
Another important characteristic is Motion Snapshot. The instant you click the shutter, the camera records a one-second slow-motion picture and a still picture. It then unites the two to make a ‘living image’, giving you thought of the circumstances nearby the taking of the real photograph.
Colors also seem richer when taken on the V1, and it does extremely well in most low-light positions, especially inside. With night-time shots, however, it really depends on just how much surrounding light there is.
When it comes to the external flash, I thought it lived up to its promise quite well. Despite its tiny size, it is actually attractive and powerful. For those involved in using the V1 to receive movies, the optional lens is the large and extremely wordy 1 NIKKOR VR 10-100mm f/4.5-5.6 PD-Zoom.It permits you to zoom in and out, rapidly or gradually. By this simple camera movement, it permits you to change the depth of observation, and gives a unique cinematic experience to your movies.
